Girls Night Out Getaways Featured on The Real Housewives of Orange County
It is official: Girls Night Out Getaways was featured on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Orange County!
Seeing myself and the experiences I planned appear on RHOC was exciting, surreal and honestly a little emotional. I have spent years creating unforgettable Las Vegas girls’ trips, so watching one of those itineraries come to life on such an iconic television franchise was an incredible full-circle moment.
How RHOC Production Found Girls Night Out Getaways
One of the most exciting parts of this experience is how it all began. Production found me through social media after seeing our Life of a Showgirl experience at Showgirl Bootcamp.
They loved the concept and thought Showgirl Bootcamp would be a fun, uniquely Las Vegas experience for the women during their trip. That is exactly what I love about the class. It is glamorous, playful, interactive and something you can truly only experience in Vegas.
The Life of a Showgirl experience at Showgirl Bootcamp gives guests the opportunity to step into the world of a real Las Vegas showgirl. From the costumes and feathers to learning choreography and authentic showgirl techniques, the class was made for groups looking for an experience that is fun, memorable and completely different from the usual Vegas activities.
It was also a perfect fit for the Housewives.
Filming The Real Housewives of Orange County
in Las Vegas
We filmed the Las Vegas scenes in late February and early March, months before the episode aired. Keeping everything quiet for that long was not easy, especially when I was so excited about the experience.
When filming day finally arrived, all of the women were so nice and genuinely fun to work with. They brought a great energy to the experience and were willing to embrace the feathers, the choreography and everything that comes with becoming a Las Vegas showgirl for the day.
One of my favorite moments happened when I told Vicki Gunvalson that we were going to “whoop it up.” At the time, I had no idea the women had been calling her “Debbie Downer” during the season. I was simply ready to welcome Vicki to Vegas and make sure the group had a fun day.
Looking back, the timing of that comment makes the moment even funnier.
Planning the Housewives’ Full Las Vegas Itinerary
Girls Night Out Getaways did more than coordinate the Showgirl Bootcamp experience. I planned the women’s full day-to-night Las Vegas itinerary.
When I create an itinerary, I think about how the entire day will flow. Each experience should feel special on its own, but everything also needs to work together to tell a story. For the RHOC cast, I wanted the day to feel glamorous, playful and unmistakably Las Vegas.
We transported the women in a pink limo, giving them the perfect Housewives-worthy arrival before they stepped into the Life of a Showgirl experience at Showgirl Bootcamp. Complete with sparkling costumes, feathers and plenty of personality, it was a memorable way to begin their Las Vegas adventure.
From there, the itinerary continued into an elegant evening at Caramella Italian Restaurant & Lounge.
Why I Chose Caramella for the RHOC Dinner
I specifically selected Caramella because its patio has one of the best views of the Bellagio fountains.
I wanted the women to have an iconic Las Vegas moment, but I was also thinking about how the experience would look on camera. The Bellagio fountains are instantly recognizable, and seeing them from Caramella’s beautiful patio creates the perfect Vegas backdrop.
Caramella also offered the right combination of atmosphere, Italian dining, cocktails and glamour for the group. After spending the day stepping into the life of a showgirl, it felt natural to continue the evening somewhere stylish and dramatic with a view that could only be found in Las Vegas.
With a group that large, the women needed a prix fixe menu, and the Girls Night Out Getaways Caramella group menu was perfect for the occasion. It allowed the group to enjoy a curated dining experience while keeping everything organized and flowing smoothly for both the guests and production.
When you are planning an experience for television, the location needs to deliver for the guests and for the shot. Caramella did both.
What I Learned Behind the Scenes
Working with the RHOC production team gave me an entirely new appreciation for what goes into creating a television show.
Production was amazing to work with. Everyone was professional, thoughtful and committed to making the experience feel special. There are so many details being managed behind the scenes that viewers never see.
From timing and lighting to camera placement, transportation, location coordination and making sure the day continues to feel natural, an incredible amount of work goes into every scene. The production team made it look effortless, but seeing the process firsthand showed me just how demanding it is.
It truly takes a hardworking and talented team to capture a few memorable minutes of television.
